Her Dragonian Majesty’s

ROYAL PROCLAMATION

Whereas we, taking into consideration the talent and courage of our loyal subjects, and in the interest of  all those who inhabit the Kingdom of Internet, have chosen the judges for the second quarter of the second year of Flash!Friday.

Whereas flash fiction is defined by her Majestic Dragoness as any tale written to a brief constraint of 150 words, give or take 10. Her Majesty, Rebekah Postupak of the Shenandoah Valley Writers of the States of Virginia and West Virginia, of the United State of America, shall provide weekly photo prompts, accompanied by a dragon’s bidding of a word or phrase.

We Therefore recognize those brave souls who would enter into competition at the site of the Great Flash Dragoness, whose stories will remain etched into the walls of her castle forevermore. Your tales will rest in the claws of a weekly judge. Their fate, to be announced before the sun sets on Sunday.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! I call upon the bravest knights to don your finest panache and enter into the Kingdom of the Great Flash Dragon to run the gauntlet, if you dare. Write as though your life depends upon it, for indeed, in this tournament, it very well might. Write with honor, and with pride. But most importantly, for the sake of all that is, was and ever will be, WRITE!

Together, we shall continue to build our kingdom to ever greater heights!

This has been a public service announcement on behalf of Her Majestic Dragoness Rebekah Postupak.

Judges for the Second Quarter of Year Two of Flash!Friday are:

Pratibha Kelapure
Alissa Leonard
Jessica West

Knights, Bards, Minstrels, and all subjects loyal to the Great and Powerful Muse… Bring it!

Most definitely. It’s so much fun! I’m taking a new approach to writing, deconstructing and paying attention to what I like in the work of others. Gives me a new appreciation for the things I like in my own work as well. As for the writing of flash, writing to these constraints is a really great way to challenge yourself and buff up on specific skills. Mostly editing ruthlessly. Jump in anytime. It’s a great community to be a part of, and I can’t say enough nice things about Rebekah Postupak. She’s a superstar.
